Fabric / Managed data infrastructure
The path from a record
to a useful result.
Connect your sources, shape the processing, and deliver dashboards and APIs. You control the workflow. Paneo runs the infrastructure.
One example / Maritime
From AIS messages
to vessel monitoring.
Follow an Automatic Identification System (AIS) feed from message decoding and vessel-data enrichment to geofence monitoring.
01 / Source
Decode the AIS feed.
AIS position reports include position, speed over ground, and course over ground. Static and voyage-related messages provide details such as vessel name and destination. Fabric decodes these messages into structured records.
02 / Processing
The diagram
is the running system.
Build and adapt the workflow with Fabric Agent. Its work remains visible in nodes and connections you can inspect and edit. Here, position reports and static data are joined on their reported Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI).
Decode AIS position reports
The decoder extracts fields such as MMSI, latitude, and longitude from the selected AIS message types.
Join on MMSI
Both inputs match on mmsi. The positional_ and static_ prefixes keep fields from each input distinct in the joined record.
03 / Output
Put the result
in people’s hands.
Turn workflow outputs into reusable fragments. This map fragment connects the Norway AIS feed to layer styling and a Map Output node, with ship icons, headings, and timestamps configured in the graph.
For a customer application, define the fields it needs and deliver them through a feed or API.
Example output View event fields
An illustrative customer record for geofence entry and exit events. The delivery interface, access, and handling of missing values are defined for your project.
mmsi- The nine-digit Maritime Mobile Service Identity reported in AIS messages.
event_state- Entry into or exit from the configured geofence.
inside- Whether the reported position is inside the geofence.
name- Vessel name reported in AIS static data, where available.
event_time- Timestamp associated with the geofence event.
